Comparison
HyperMonitors vs Uptime Kuma Uptime Kuma is a genuinely great piece of software: MIT-licensed, actively maintained, 90k+ GitHub stars, and free for unlimited monitors. The structural catch is that it runs on one server you own. If that server, its network, or its datacenter goes down, your monitoring and your alerting go down together — and nothing tells you. This page is for people weighing that trade-off, not for people happy self-hosting.

Where Uptime Kuma is stronger
It's free with no monitor limit, and your data never leaves your infrastructure — which matters for some compliance postures. Crucially, it can reach things a hosted probe structurally cannot: internal services, LAN hosts, homelab gear, anything behind your firewall. It supports 90+ notification channels and 20-second intervals at no cost, and being MIT-licensed it can't be sunset out from under you — as Freshping's users found out. If you're comfortable running it and monitoring internal systems, it's a strong choice.
Pricing that stays out of your way Uptime Kuma's entry paid plan starts at free (self-hosted). Ours starts at $5/mo — and Free is free forever.
