Status badge builder

Preview the status and uptime badges HyperMonitors serves for a monitor, then paste your status-page slug and monitor ID to get the Markdown or HTML to embed in a README or website. The preview is drawn in your browser — nothing is requested.

The live badge shows the monitor's current state. “unknown” is what you see if the slug and monitor ID do not match a monitor on a public status page.

Embed it

Enter the slug of your public status page and the ID of a monitor shown on it. The snippet below points at the real badge, which updates on its own.

Every badge state

Status badges for each monitor state, and uptime badges in each colour band — exactly as the API draws them.

Common questions

Where do I find the slug and monitor ID?

The slug is the name in your public status page's address. In the dashboard, open Status pages and expand “Embed status badges” on a page: every monitor on it has buttons that copy the finished Markdown with both values filled in.

Why does my badge say “unknown”?

The badge only works for a monitor that is shown on a public status page with that slug. If the page is private, the monitor is not on it, or the slug or ID is mistyped, the endpoint answers with a grey “unknown” badge instead of revealing anything about the monitor.

How current is the badge?

The status badge reflects the monitor's current state and the uptime badge the last 30 days, the same figure the status page shows. Badges may be cached for up to a minute, and some hosts (GitHub's image proxy, for example) cache them for longer.

Does the badge expose anything private?

No more than your public status page already does: the state or uptime percentage of a monitor you chose to publish. The monitor's URL, its settings and your account are never part of the badge.
